Challenge des Elfes No 45 - par Bri

Published on by Antoinette

Another challenge which appealed to me - Challenge des Elfes No 45 by Bri: to create a card which opens/closes with a ribbon, raffia or fibre of some kind, using a plain paper base,.

This is the fantastic lot which the lucky challenge winner could receive:

I used a variation of
this technique to create my base.  First I cut a piece of Canson to the desired size, and marked my folds.  I then mixed water, Perfect Pearls in copper and a dropper full of Marigold Distress ink.  I sprayed this randomly over the Canson until the page was covered adequately.  I dried it using my heat gun, then ran distress ink around the edges to take the blunted look off.  The perfect pearls give a lovely sheen to the paper.

I stamped the bottom and the edges inside using
Pati's Mixed Media background No 2, and the greeting (another from La CDE) using Frayed Burlap distress ink, then stamped and embossed  the mannequins couturiers (aren't they just fantastic?  I looooove them!!!)  on the front panels.  Two eyelets and a little organza ribbon to finish it off.

This card is for a wonderful lady whose birthday is not far off.  I hope she likes it :)

Great colours, and love how you've decorated the inside as well.
